FAQ - Excell™ for Equine and Canine

Updated: Aug 30, 2023

1. What is Excell™?

Excell™ is an all-natural lactobacillus fermentation product containing prebiotic components and bioactive metabolytes produced during the fermentation process.

2. How does Excell™ work?

The unique profile of bioactive compounds in Excell™ supports benifical microbial populations in the intestine inproving gut integtety which aids the digestive system to become more efficient in nutrient digestion and adsorption.

3. What is meant by “improved gut integrity”?

When beneficial gut microflora are increased, the result is usually increased short-chain fatty acid production which lowers the gut pH. Beneficial digestive bacteria thrive in a lower pH while the pathgenic bacteria tend to reduce in number. This “more ideal” pH condition of the intestion usually results in increased digestion, adsorption and health benefits like improved immune function and reduced scours and diareaha.

4. Is Excell™ a probiotic?

No, the lactobacillus cells in Excell™ are not viable. The value of Excell™ is created during lactobacillus fermentation of organic compounds and bioactive metabolites which benefit the rumen and intestinal microbial population.

5. Is Excell™ a prebiotic?

Excell™ has prebiotic activity in that it will induce the growth and activity of beneficial microorganisms. However, it is not a non-digestible fiber as in the traditional prebiotic definition….…the newer term for Excell™ type products is eubiotic, a product that induces a healthy balance of the micro-flora in the gastrointestinal tract.

6. How is Excell™ produced?

A proprietary Lactobacillus strain is grown in stainless steel fermenters to a high cell mass and allowed to ferment producing organic bioactive compounds which benefit animals’ digestive systems.

7. How does Excell™ compare to yeast products?

Excell™ provides these additional benefits over yeast products:

· Provides greater support of optimal microbial populations in the intestine

· An all-natural product providing performance benefits similar to Rumensin and Bovatec

8. How much Excell™ should be fed:

Dogs--.6 to g grams per day depending on dog size

Horses—2.5 to 7.5 depending on horse age and weight

Pigs—2 to 4 pounds per ton of finished feed

9. What happens if I overdose Excell™

Excell™ is very safe. Feeding very high levels of Excell™ (over 5 times recommend levels may result in minor looseness of the feces.
